What is coaching?
Traditional coaching provides support, guidance, counsel and structure in your journey to achieving a goal. Helping you to organise your thoughts, see your true potential and identify pitfalls. Allowing you to tap into your innate problem-solving potential. Coaching is generally present and future focused.
What is Therapeutic coaching?
Therapeutic coaching goes further and takes you deeper than traditional coaching. Drawing on elements from therapeutic modalities we look at, not only where you are and want to be, but what got you to where you are in the first place. Taking time to explore long held beliefs and historical events, improves our understanding of where we find ourselves at the present time.
What is different about therapeutic coaching?
During therapeutic coaching we explore what is happening in the mind but also take to time to look at our 'somatic narrative' what happens in our bodies when we talk about traumatic or painful past events. This somatic approach has been shown to be a powerful way to fast-track coachees to unearth and identify the authentic emotions and feelings at the heart of their problems.
How does this style of coaching work?
This coaching is a gentle, supportive but DEEP DIVE in the root cause of perceived problems to truly understand their origin in order to better create long-lasting solutions. We will utilise multiple tools, including breathwork and meditation, as well as talking through issues, to help you move forward in the most effective way possible.
Why would I need therapeutic coaching during perimenopause?
Perimenopause is often a time of huge change in a woman's life. Not only in terms of the physical and emotional symptoms associated with menopause. But it is often a time of huge personal and professional change. Therapeutic coaching can help you to deal with past issues that may be keeping you stuck. Whilst working to create a clear path forward to whatever your goals for midlife are.
What changes are unique to midlife?
Midlife women are often experiencing perimenopause. At the same time they may be juggling successful careers, looking at career change, starting or running a business alongside family issues. Children may be young or grown and moving away from home. Parents are reaching a stage of life where they may need more support and help. Marriages and relationships may be going through their own changes. No wonder this stage is often called 'the squeezed middle'!
